Dating could be considered tricky territory for parents. All of a sudden you have a new precious cargo hat could be considered baggage to a potential new beau. You have to consider the new dynamic of when to introduce the kids and the logistical nightmare of co-parenting or having someone watch the kids so you can actually attend said dates. And after finally finding a babysitter the date turns out to be a total dud right?
Dating sites and social media have absolutely made dating 100x easier, now you can have in depth conversations and vet eachother before you even have to come face to face but its still all incredibly nerve wracking, especially when you have to consider your new babies in the mix as well.
It would be easier to give up right? Noooo… I have compiled a list of fictional characters that have given us ALL THE FEELS in the past to remind you that the dating game is totally worth it. Just think of the first date butterflies and jitters. Stay positive about dating with welovedates.com

Hermione and Ron from Harry Potter: Harry Potter fans just didn’t see this coming (or maybe they did and I’m just slower on the uptake?!) but Hermione and Ron right? Everything about Harry Potter would suggest that Hermione and Harry would be a match made in heaven but Hazza was too busy going with Rons sister Ginny. Which in hindsight – doesn’t that break some kind of code?! As the storylines develop though, Hermione and Ron make total sense.
Hermione and Ron were the couple I rooted for. As a Harry Potter I would have been outraged if they hadn’t have gotten together! – Kat, Raising Harry
Arthur and Molly Wesley from Harry Potter: no matter what happens they have each others backs. Plus they are amazing parents. – Sarah, Boo, Roo & Tigger Too
Katniss and Peeta from The Hunger Games: The odds were stacked against them. They were literally meant to kill one another (which kind of sounds like marriage haha!) and they managed to fair through it all and fall in love.
Daenarys and Drogo from Game of Thrones: Sure he wasn’t great at the start but he helped her find her Queen power and we all know what a badass she turned into! I haven’t actually finished Game of Thrones and apparently she marries someone else? Is he as nice? Is it true love?!!
Eleanor and Chidi from The Good Place: Proof that sometimes, you’re just meant to be with another person. I love their clumsiness, their humour and they’re just so cute. They also come across as characters who genuinely just want the best for each other, even if that means personal sacrifice.
And my award for the couple that took FOREVER to be official but obviously loved each other from the start: Donna and Josh, The West Wing. I have watched this whole show over, and over, and over. And I will never tire of watching them. ‘If you were in hospital, I wouldn’t stop for red lights.’ – Holly, Holly Made Life
Carl and Elie from Up!: They didnt manage to go on the adventure they wanted, but they still made their whole life an adventure anyway just because they were together. Those first few moments of the film are by far my favourite and I feel so bad for Carl without her. – Kimberly, OddHogg
Aladdin and Jasmine from Aladdin: There was so much going against them in society as a couple but they knew what they wanted and love always wins in the end. It just goes to show that no matter what background you come from, even those you would never believe could love you, will if you only stay true to you. – Tamara, The Epileptic Blogger
Homer and Marge Simpson from The Simpsons: They remind me so much of me and hubby! They are perfectly imperfect, totally in love with each other and yet so different. That and having 3 kids, a brown dog and a black cat, I think we are them!! – Emma, Fuelled by Latte
Mr Darcey and Elizabeth Bennet from Pride & Prejudice: because we all fell in love with him – Rosie, Busy Mum Lifestyle.
Monica Geller and Chandler Bing from Friends: The unlikely pairing brought out the best in eachother as their storylines developed she stopped being less annoying to having her funny side being brought out and Monica showed us the Chandler is 100% the best male in Friends. Cute, Funny, Kind and a little awkward.
Ross and Rachel: SHE GOT OFF THE PLANE!!!!!
Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton from The Notebook: Aside from the fact Noah is Ryan Gosling, we just love how this couple are crazy for each other. She even leaves the ridiculously good looking James Marsden for him. truelove.
