So its a BIG bucket list plan of mine to go the Christmas Markets in Germany one day, but with a baby and a toddler it’s not going to happen anytime soon. However. I am still down with the idea of a Christmas market so I thought I’d scout out the best ones the UK has to offer.
Bath Christmas Market – 26th November – 13th December
I have to start with Bath as its local to me! Bath Christmas market features almost 200 wooden chalets in the Abbey, most of the merchants are local artisans offering a selection of handmade wooden toys, jewellery and artisan food items. Top tip though, the streets of Bath are cobbled so be conscious of pushchair and footwear choices!
Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park London – 17th November – 1st January
While there are a number of Christmas markets in London, Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland is the ultimate. Admission to the market is free. In addition to hundreds of stalls offering gift items, the market features the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink, music, an ice kingdom and day and evening circus performances.
Swansea Christmas Market, Wales – 24th November – 21st December
Located on Oxford Street, the market is well known for its unique local food and beverages, both suitable for enjoying while shopping and taking home for gifts. You will find unique locally made Christmas cards, decorations and handmade items, along with fudge, artisan cheeses, seaweed-infused gin and camel burgers.
Liverpool Christmas Market, Liverpool – 17th November – 22nd December
A Christmas that dreams are made of is set to grace Liverpool this year! Get into the holiday spirit and enjoy chestnuts roasting on an open fire, mistletoe, mulled wine and many more festive fancies as Liverpool’s Christmas market opens on St George’s Plateau. This one sounds amazing! So gorgeous and traditional. Liverpool is the place to be this winter as they’re hosting a Christmas Street Party and Ice Festival! You can find out what’s on in Liverpool ONE here.
