Skin care is something we all need to do in the first place, and something a lot of us feel we need to get better at! When you’re looking into a mirror at the end of the day, or you’ve just washed up in the bathroom after waking up bleary eyed and bed headed, you’re going to be disappointed to spot some blemishes or pimples on your skin. After everything else you have to do, this is something else to stock on top?
When it comes to making sure your skin is clear, supple, and glowing by the end of the day, you can choose to rely on your hormones and the good diet you’ve cultivated for yourself, or you can complement these with some good products and a routine. So if you’re looking for a way to make your routine last no longer than 5 minutes (which is something you feel like you can’t even afford to spare usually anyway!), here’s some tips on including everything whilst making things go a little faster!
Keep on Cleansing
Cleansing is something we must start with, but you can’t tailor your skin care routine to be faster and smoother unless you know the base you’re working with. So, with a quick 60 second google search, find out what skin type you have. You’ll probably then need to wash your face with lukewarm water and the cleanser of your choice twice a day, to make sure no dirt is lingering in your pores.
Your skin isn’t going to be the same as it was when you were younger, and your teen years may have been full of spots and scratches on your face. However, as an adult, it’s unlikely you’re going to be experiencing the same kinds of breakouts or blemishes. So, if you were oily or dry as a younger person for example, you might have a normal complexion now.
If you have large pores and a look about you that’s a little shiny, it’s likely you have more of a an oily complexion. If your skin is prone to flaking, you have dry skin. It could also mean you have sensitive skin, accompanied by a lot of red patches and general irritation. However, if you haven’t noticed a change in your skin type depending on the products you use, it could just be dry skin.
Then Tone Up
Toning is little talked about in skincare routines, but it’s an absolutely crucial step to keep up with. A toner makes sure that your pores are entirely clean and stay that way, whilst making sure that your pH balance is right as rain!
After you’ve cleansed, you’re going to need to make sure all the clogging oils are gone, whilst still making sure your skin doesn’t feel dry. And that’s where toner comes in! Toner is easy to apply as your just pour a little on a cotton pad, or a bit of tissue if you didn’t buy those on your last way around the supermarket, and dab it on. You don’t even need to rinse anything off afterwards! What could be easier for healthy skin?
Pop Some Serum On
Now comes the heavy hitters! Serum is good for soothing all your skin’s needs, but it can be the most expensive part of your routine. Yet, don’t just pick up the first thing you see on the shelves, and make sure you dedicate a couple of more minutes searching time when you’re walking up and down the aisles. Or simply take to the net if you’re missing your sofa that much!
You don’t need very much of a serum when you’re applying it daily, and just a few drops will do the job well. The formula is extremely concentrated so each drop packs a good punch of nutrients for your look.
Everyone knows about this one, and moisturiser is something everyone should be using daily. When you’re lacking the essential oils your skin needs to breathe and work properly, moisturiser is going to make sure your skin isn’t overcompensating whenever you clean it up.
This is also a good place to apply any medicated creams you need for a more heavy duty treatment. You can ask your doctor for some Differin gel for acne, as this can be a swift solution to any breakouts you’re repeatedly experiencing. A quick 30 seconds to rub in some gel won’t matter in the long run!
When you’re on a timeframe, keep skin looking fine!
