Out with the old, in with the new. | Selling on eBay #ad

September 29, 2017

I haven’t sold anything on eBay for ages, mainly because I have always had in my head that it is such a tedious task that takes ages! I used to love the rush of selling my old trash for some else to make their treasure and making enough spare cash to fund a night out in my late teens, but as of late I have either held onto old baby clothes or given them away through pure laziness.
I am the polar opposite to a hoarder, I’m not quite minimalist standards yet, but when it comes to stuff we no longer need I am pretty quick to pass it on as we just don’t have space. As soon as I found out we were expecting a girl, I knew it was time to get rid of the baby boy clothes (sob!) but as I went through it all I felt like I wanted to recoup some of my investment into Rory’s wardrobe. I have spent a lot of money and am really attached to his clothes so it didn’t quite feel right to give them away! I wanted them to go to someone that wanted them and were willing to pay a fair price for them. Hellooooo eBay
I decided eBay and I needed to re-kindle our relationship and boy did sparks fly! She’s changed… she is now so much speedier and low maintenance. I think we are going to do just fine.
Listing the items was so easy! I just popped all of my information in the description and all of the categories populated themselves meaning that I could list an item and take the picture in just 30 seconds!
My favourite features are that you can take a photo through the app and it wouldn’t clog up your camera roll. I used to hate having to take the photos on my phone first and then deleting them. (I know, first world problems!), I also love that it works out your postage for you and it’s really finely tuned. I listed a t-shirt and a jumper, it worked out the t-shirt would fit to be a large letter but that the jumper would need to be a small parcel. It’s the little things but that was amazing for time efficiency.
There is something really lovely about passing your baby clothes on to a good home whilst making some money to re-buy Rory new clothes (my favourite hobby of course!) I am so impressed at how painless it was and it took such little time!
WHILE I WAS THERE… I also decided that it was a great time to start re-plenishing some of Rory’s wardrobe as well as pick up some new little bits for baby girl. I am a big advocate for second-hand baby clothes as it’s such an affordable way to buy some gorgeous bits. I’ve already started bidding on some Zara and next items. Oh, the thrill of the auction!
