“I wish people these days didn’t live a life online” – you hear this all the time right? I have to disagree though. Whether you like it or not, it is the digital age, and many remarkable things are coming off the back of that.
I’m biased because I have worked in e-commerce for 6 years now, going from Website Manager to Blogger. I think now is a really exciting time but I can see why it would be crazy daunting if you don’t have digital confidence.
Research commissioned by Post Office Broadband found that a whopping 20% of people in the UK (including young people) don’t feel digitally confident.
Let’s think about how much we rely on technology at the moment. It runs our diaries, our banking, hell, even our smoke alarm is run through a phone app!
How do you feel about the internet? Do you feel confident with it? Do you feel happy using your smartphone? Are you looking for tips on how to keep the digital space secure for your family with proxy server help and advice?
The post office is partnering with Google Digital Garage, offering events throughout the Summer to help those wanting to boost their digital confidence.
There are four events being held at different locations throughout the UK. I’m excited. We will be attending the event at the Plymstock Library in Plymouth this Friday 20th June.
If like me, you prefer a hands-on approach when it comes to learning (I tend to learn by breaking things and having to then fix it!) then these events are absolutely perfect for you!
If you interested in learning something new or mastering a skill then register your place here.
