#GIRLBOSS was my 2014 holiday read and a book that still plays on my mind every now and again, it’s a lovely easy to read book that will definitely inspire you to get off your arse and want to create things. This book is slightly niche in the way that it isn’t you usual entrepreneur/business book and its almost questionable it falling into these categories on Amazon as its almost more of a self-improvement book? It’s very different in the sense that it’s hard to know where to place it however it is perfect for anyone (probably more the 20-something market) that has life goals and aspirations.
Sophia’s personality and approach to life is definitely the leader to this books unique stance, she has a really honest and straight talking approach and doesn’t lead you up the garden path into thinking that things will just be handed to you, she discusses her journey from being unemployed to CEO and the hard graft it took, however it is more about her journey and approach than so much her decisions and the structure of Nasty Gal. Sophia also offers general thoughts on how to live your life with chapters about wasting money and managing your savings.
#GIRLBOSS says a lot with the title, in my opinion this book will benefit you more if you are interested in part biography, part self improvement and the building of the business and logistics are not at the forefront of your mind. The book is all about unleashing your inner #GIRLBOSS and commanding more from your life whether it be personal or professional. Overall it’s a great read with lovely quotes and pretty artwork which you’ll find yourself folding over pages for the next time you want to give yourself a motivational chat.
