Water Wipes | Are they worth it?

When you’re pregnant there are lots of “must have” products on the market with expensive price tags but are they really worth the hype? Let’s discuss…

If you haven’t heard of Water Wipes they are amazing, they are the world’s purest baby wipe, built up of 99.9% water and 0.01% fruit extract!

Convincing the husband to spend £2.50 on a pack of wipes wasn’t an easy task but as soon as he compared them to other brands on the shelf we were both pretty shocked at the number of chemicals that normal branded wipes contain, it didn’t feel right to put that on fresh, newborn skin.

I bought one pack of Water Wipes when I was pregnant for my hospital bag. I didn’t want to use cotton wool and warm water so I thought “well I will get judged less if I use these!” – anyway, it didn’t take long before I was completely hooked.

Rory has really sensitive skin, he suffers from eczema and it doesn’t take much to dry out so I am picky about what I use on his skin and limit the number of chemicals I put on him. Every time I consider using a different brand I just think, no they’re so worth it to just know that I am not adding any harsh chemicals where I don’t have to.

At four months he has never suffered from any form of nappy rash, even through teething and weaning (touch wood), and I honestly think a huge part of that is down to these. I can’t imagine how horrible nappy rash must be for a baby having pee burn into it, nappies rubbed against it, they don’t then need chemicals rubbed on it too.

The thing I love most about Water Wipes is that they hold their “wetness” if that makes any sense? Normally as you reach the bottom of a packet of wipes they can be dry, but with Water Wipes, it’s the opposite. I will flip the pack over every couple of nappy changes to distribute the water evenly.

Anyway, are they worth it? Yes! However, at £2.50 a pack it can be a little pricey, but if you keep your eyes peeled they’re often on promotion. You can regularly find them for £1.48 a pack on Amazon, £2.00 a pack in Boots & Tesco and even just 99p at Approved Foods, so at the discounted price it’s easier to justify. I also find that as they are a really nice size, you can get away with tearing them in two – getting double the amount for your money!

Don’t take my word for it, you can also find reviews on Hollie’s, Kirsty’s, Katie’s and Rachel’s blogs.

  • Oh I'm glad to see they're a hit for you! I ordered the Amazon deal for 720 wipes a couple of weeks ago (my baby isn't due until June!!) and was a bit worried in case they were a fad…but they do sound brilliant 🙂 x
